Lower Levels of Vitamin B12 Among Patients with Viral Warts Compared with Control Subjects: A Retrospective Study

Aim: Viral wart is a common benign infectious dermatosis. It remains unclear why not everyone exposed to HPV develops warts. known that vitamin and mineral deficiencies can affect impair natural acquired immunity lead tendency get more infections. This study aimed determine the potential utility of evaluating B12, folic acid, ferritin levels in patients with viral Material Methods: In this retrospective study, 70 who were diagnosed warts dermatology outpatient clinic Karabük University Training Research Hospital between January 2018 December 2019 included. healthy individuals matched terms gender age included as control group. Serum both groups detected compared from hospital automation system. Results: Vitamin B12 level was statistically significantly lower group (p=0.046). Although serum found group, difference significant (p=0.677). No folate (p=0.879). Conclusion: low levels, replacement therapy could be considered. Also, evaluation level, an iron storage parameter body, important infection.
